Wireless Provider Porting Instructions

Number porting is taking an existing phone number and transferring it to a new wireless provider.

AT&T Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from AT&T:

  • Your AT&T account number - this can be found on your bill or in your online account portal
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • With the myAT&T app:
      • Log in → People & Permissions → Transfer phone number → Request new PIN
    • Online with my AT&T:
      • Log in → People & Permissions → Wireless → Transfer phone number → Request new PIN
    • Dial *PORT and follow the prompts to request your port-out PIN
    • Contacting your provider | 1-800-331-0500
Verizon Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Verizon:

  • Your Verizon account number - this can be found on your bill or in your online account portal
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • With the My Verizon App
      • Log in → Account → Security → Number Transfer PIN
    • Online Steps
    • Dial #PORT and follow the prompts to request your port-out PIN
    • Contacting your provider | 1-888-294-6804
T-Mobile Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from T-Mobile:

  • Your T-Mobile account number - this can be found on your bill or in your online account portal
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Your port-out PIN is the same as the account PIN created when setting up the account, unless you changed it
    • Contacting your provider | 1-800-937-8997 or dial 611
Boost Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Boost:

  • Your Boost account number - this can be found by contacting your provider
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Your port-out PIN is the same as the account PIN created when setting up the account, unless you changed it

Cellcom Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Cellcom:

  • Your Cellcom account number - this can be found on your bill
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Your port-out PIN is the same as the account PIN created when setting up the account, unless you changed it
    • Contacting your provider | 1-800-236-0055
Consumer Cellular Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Consumer Cellular:

  • Your Consumer Cellular account number - This can be found by logging in to your account or by contacting your provider
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Your PIN is the last four digits of your Social Security Number, unless you changed it

Cricket Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Cricket:

  • Your Cricket account number - this can be found by logging in to your account online, in the myCricket app, or by contacting your provider
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Your port-out PIN is the account PIN number you set up when creating the account, unless you changed it

Metro by T-Mobile Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Metro by T-Mobile:

  • Your Metro by T-Mobile account number - this can be found on your bill or by contacting your provider
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Your PIN is the same as the passcode when you set up the account, usually your 8-digit birthday, unless you changed it

Straight Talk Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Straight Talk:

  • Your Straight Talk account number - this is your device’s IMEI number, which can be found in the settings or by dialing *#06#
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Your port-out PIN is the same as the account PIN created when setting up the account, unless you changed it
    • You can reset your PIN by logging in to your account or contacting your provider | 1-877-430-2355
Tracfone Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Tracfone:

  • Your Tracfone account number - this is your device’s IMEI number, which can be found in the settings or by dialing *#06#
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Text “NTP” to 611611
    • Contacting your provider | 1-800-867-7183
US Cellular Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from US Cellular:

  • Your US Cellular account number - This can be found on your bill or by contacting your provider

Visible Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Visible:

  • Your Visible account number - This can be found by logging in to your account
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
    • Logging in to your account and requesting a port-out PIN
    • Contacting your provider by chat on the app or in web
Xfinity Mobile Porting Instructions:

You will need the following items to bring your number from Xfinity Mobile:

  • Your Xfinity Mobile account number - this can be found by logging in to your account or by contacting your provider
  • The address on the account
  • Your port-out PIN, which you can get by following the steps below:
