Phone Compatibility on 5.0 Plans
For phones sold in our online store since 12/1/21...
All phones sold on republicwireless.com as of December 1, 2021, are certified and fully compatible with our 5.0 plans, and with the exception of the TCL Flip, include support for carrier WiFi calling. For information on our BYOP program, phones known to be incompatible, and phones that appear to work with 5.0 plans but are not certified, please see below.
Bring Your Own Phone
Our Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program includes phones purchased elsewhere as well as phones purchased from Republic Wireless prior to December 1, 2021. Locked phones purchased elsewhere need to be unlocked.
iPhone BYOP
The Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program includes all iPhones compatible with Apple's most recent iOS version -- generally iPhone 6s and newer models.
Note: iPhone 6 and below are not supported.
The easiest way to check your phone's model information is to open the Settings app, click General, and then click About.
Android BYOP
We welcome Android phones manufactured for use in North America after 2017 that support 4G and VoLTE. Some features (like VoLTE and WiFi calling) vary by the phone manufacturer’s implementation and may not perform the same on every cellular network. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on our plan purchases to allow you time to evaluate your phone on our network.
For Android phones, before installing your SIM card, make sure you have the latest Android update installed on the phone as this impacts compatibility on some phones. Watch for new updates after installing the SIM card as well.
Not supported: Will not work with 5.0 plans

The following legacy phones are supported on the 5.0 network but not all features are guaranteed to work. WiFi calling is not supported on most of these phones.
Some BYOP versions of these phones do support WiFi calling and are noted with a 
symbol. This symbol is not meant to indicate a guarantee of support.
Please note that only phones purchased from the Republic Wireless online store after December 2021 are certified for the 5.0 network. All phones purchased prior to that date are considered BYOP by our new carrier partner and compatibility is considered “as-is” with no guarantee, even if WiFi calling is indicated.
