Can't Send or Receive MMS Text Messages (Group and/or Pictures)

Symptoms

  • Phone is not able to send and/or receive some MMS (Group and/or Picture Messages)
  • Issue more common when texting Off-Net phones

Environment

  • Republic Wireless Phones
  • MMS Messaging in Anywhere or Messages by Google apps

Resolution

This issue may be the result of a bug that our engineering team is currently working to resolve. In order to verify that your phone is affected, please make sure that you have the correct settings on your phone by taking the steps in each of the following articles:

  1. Install Messages by Google
  2. Set Up Messages by Google as the Default Messaging App (if not done automatically in step 1)
  3. Confirm Basic Network Settings (Please make sure to pick the link in this article that relates to your phone)
  4. Configure Group Messaging

Once complete, please test your phone to see if MMS messages are working. If not, then please take the following steps:

  1. Refresh the Republic Wireless Activation
  2. Reset the Network Settings (Please make sure to pick the link in this article that relates to your phone)

If those steps do not resolve the issue, then please:

  2. Open a Help Ticket
