Resolution
- First, if you can access the Settings app, try clearing the Gboard app data:
- For the Moto E1, E2, G1, G3, X1 and X2
- For the Moto G4, G4 Play, E4, E4 Plus
- If you are unable to access your phone because you are stuck at the lock screen, or if the above fails, try seeing if you can get the Gboard app to update "automatically":
- If you are unable to get the Gboard app data cleared, or the Gboard app updated, then this issue will be resolved by performing a factory reset
