Unable to Get Past Google Account Verification After Factory Reset


  • Bypass Google account verification after factory reset



  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Backup & reset
  3. Tap Factory data reset
  4. Tap Reset Phone
  5. Tap Erase Everything
  6. Set up the phone until you get to the option to connect to Wi-Fi
  7. Tap the text box for the Wi-Fi password (do not type a password yet)
  8. The keyboard should appear. On the keyboard, press and hold the Spacebar
  9. A menu will appear, tap English (US) Google Keyboard)
  10. You should be returned to the Wi-Fi connection screen.  Enter the password for your network
  11. Continue through the setup until you are prompt to enter your Google Account information. Tap in the text box to enter your email address or phone number
  12. The keyboard will pop up, tap and hold the @ symbol
  13. Tap Google Keyboard Settings
  14. Tap the three-dot menu
  15. Select Help & Feedback
  16. Tap search Google and send results from your keyboard
  17. A web page should open. Press and hold any word on the page until a menu appears,
  18. Select Web Search from the menu
  19. Select Google App
  20. Search for Settings from the web page
  21. The Settings gear icon should appear in the dropdown menu of available options. Tap settings.
  22. Tap Backup and Reset
  23. Tap Factory Data Reset.
  24. Go through the account setup again. When prompted to enter your Google account verification, tap Skip
