Extend Home Troubleshooting and Error Codes

Overview

Resolve issues when setting up or using the Extend Home feature and your Home Phone Adapter.


Troubleshooting

Most issues can be resolved with one of the three steps below. If a step includes wait-time, it's important to wait the entire time listed.

  1. Restart the adapter by unplugging it, waiting 10 seconds, and plugging it back in
    • After restarting, wait at least 5 minutes before trying to place or receive a call
  2. Factory reset the adapter
    1. After performing a factory reset, wait at least 10 minutes before trying to place or receive a call
  3. Disassociate and re-associate the adapter, then restart the adapter and wait at least 5 minutes before trying to place or receive a call

Error Codes Received During Association

Click the error code below for steps to try in order to resolve the issue

RATA-0000: An unexpected error has occurred. Please contact Republic Help.
  • Open a Help Ticket
RATA-4000: The MAC address entered is already associated with this phone number. Please cancel this attempt.
  • Double-check the MAC address & re-enter it
  • Cancel the association attempt
RATA-4001: The MAC address entered is already associated with another phone number. Please remove it from the other number and try again.
  • Double-check the MAC address & re-enter it
  • Disassociate the adapter from the associated phone number
RATA-4002: The MAC address entered is incorrect. Please check the MAC and try again.
  • Double-check the MAC address & re-enter it
  • Ensure the adapter is powered on & connected to the Internet (All three lights on top should be solid)
  • Restart the adapter and wait 10 minutes
RATA-4104: The adapter is unreachable. Please check if the MAC address was entered correctly and if it was, restart the adapter and try again.
  • Double-check the MAC address & re-enter it
  • Restart the adapter and wait 5 minutes
RATA-4105: The current configuration file on the adapter has expired. Please factory reset the adapter and try again.
  • Double-check the MAC address & re-enter it
  • Factory reset the adapter
RATA-4200: This association request has expired. Please cancel this attempt and try again.
  • Cancel the association attempt and try again
RATA-4201: The PIN entered is incorrect. You have X number of attempts remaining.
  • Attempt the association again
RATA-4202: The PIN entered is incorrect. You have no more attempts left. Please cancel this attempt and start over.
  • Refresh the page and attempt the association again
RATA-4300: The adapter is unable to complete association. Please check your Internet connection and try again.
  • Double-check the MAC address & re-enter it
  • Restart the adapter and wait 5 minutes
  • Factory reset the adapter
