- Almost identical Gmail accounts
- Non-member receives a member's email
Google does not acknowledge periods (".") as characters in addresses. For example: firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org, according to Google, are all the same. Additionally, adding a plus ("+") sign and any combination of words or numbers after an email address does not change the email and emails will still be delivered to the root address. Example: Mail that is sent to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org will be delivered to the root email email@example.com.
