- Almost identical Gmail accounts
- Non-member receives a member's email
Google does not acknowledge periods (".") as characters in addresses. For example: email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com, according to Google, are all the same. Additionally, adding a plus ("+") sign and any combination of words or numbers after an email address does not change the email and emails will still be delivered to the root address. Example: Mail that is sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com will be delivered to the root email firstname.lastname@example.org.
