Sync Errors With Gmail App for The Moto G5S Plus

Symptoms

  • Gmail App for Android displays sync errors

Environment

  • Gmail App
  • Moto G5S Plus

Resolution

  1. Make sure your Gmail app is up to date.
  2. Turn your phone off and then back on.
  3. Check your settings
    1. Are you able to access the internet?
    2. Disable airplane mode if it is enabled.
    3. Make sure Gmail sync settings are enabled
  4. Check your storage.
    1. If you have less than 10% remaining, consider freeing up space by removing photos and videos from your phone or uninstalling apps you no longer use.
  5. Check your password.
  6. Clear your Gmail app data
    1. Please Note: Doing this may delete your drafts, signature, ringtone and other settings.  Please complete this step only if the steps above do not resolve your syncing issue.
