- SIM Cards
Answer
A SIM card is a microchip in a smartphone that connects it to a particular phone network. SIM is an abbreviation for Subscriber Identity Module.
Additional Notes
Not all SIM Cards are the same and not all SIM Cards work with every phone. Older models like the Moto G1 and the Moto E1, do not need a SIM Cards as it is built into the hardware. All other legacy phones use a unique SIM Card that is explicitly paired for that phone.
3.0 Phones use GSM and CDMA SIM Cards. While most 3.0 phones can work on both GSM and CDMA, certain 3.0 phones will only work with GSM SIM Cards. For a list of GSM only phones, please click here.
