Moto E5 Play Does Not Recognize the SIM Card It Was Shipped With

Check to ensure the SIM card is inserted properly. It should be in the slot flush with the top of the battery, with the gold contacts facing down, and with the clipped corner in the top left.

Additional Notes

The battery will need to be removed to either insert or remove the SIM card from the phone.
