Symptoms
- Error "Need to Install Messenger" to read new messages
- Using Facebook application on the phone
- Texting application doesn't open these messages; i.e. Anywhere, Android Messages

- All Republic Wireless phones
Resolution
Install Facebook Messenger onto the phone
Cause
The Facebook app alone doesn't have the ability to send and receive messages, but shows notifications that there are new messages. The texting application for sending and receiving messages to your Republic Wireless phone number won't sync to Facebook.
Additional Notes
"Facebook Messenger" is called "Messenger," without the "Facebook." The app icon appears as a blue talk bubble.
If you're using the Facebook app, but don't have Facebook Messenger installed, you'll see this error to install when you tap to show messages within the Facebook app. When the Messenger app is installed, tapping this will open the Facebook Messenger app
NOTE: Republic Anywhere can't be used with Facebook messages
