Answer
MSL (Master Subsidiary Lock) codes are 6-digit codes unique to individual CDMA phones. They are only necessary to access certain technical settings of a phone, including performing a custom factory reset.
Additional Notes
Generally, MSL locks were utilized on devices launched before February 2015 and prevent a phone from being reprogrammed to work with a different carrier. A phone with an MLS code is usually referred to as "locked". MSL codes can be provided by Republic Help upon request.
