What Is an MSL Code?

 No longer supported

The phone(s) described in this article can no longer be activated with Republic. Please see Republic Wireless Phones for information on currently supported phones.

MSL (Master Subsidiary Lock) codes are 6-digit codes unique to individual CDMA phones. They are only necessary to access certain technical settings of a phone, including performing a custom factory reset

Additional Notes

Generally, MSL locks were utilized on devices launched before February 2015 and prevent a phone from being reprogrammed to work with a different carrier. A phone with an MLS code is usually referred to as "locked". MSL codes can be provided by Republic Help upon request.
