What Is the Difference Between GSM and CDMA?

Environment

Answer

We partner with two of America’s largest nationwide 4G LTE cellular networks (one using GSM technology and the other CDMA technology) to give you the best coverage in your area.  These are two completely separate networks of cell towers. Generally speaking, one is not better than the other, but depending on where you live and which network has more towers in your area, one network may provide better coverage for you than the other.

Additional Notes

Most Republic Wireless 3.0 phones can run on either our GSM or CDMA networks. However, due to hardware limitations, some of our phones will only work on our GSM network. To see a full list of specifications for each phone, including network compatibility, or for other questions regarding coverage, please see Republic Wireless Coverage
