What Does a Network Settings Reset Do?

Environment

  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow and higher

Answer

  • Turns off tethering
  • Turns off airplane mode
  • Turns off VPN
  • Turns off data roaming on most devices (Republic app will notify to turn back on)
  • Turns on cellular data
  • Allows background data sync and removes app settings that restrict data
  • Turns off Android data limit and warning
  • Sets CDMA roaming system select to automatic
  • Sets the preferred network type to LTE
  • Turns off Bluetooth and forgets devices
  • Turns on WiFi and forgets networks

Additional Notes

  • All of the above are factory defaults.
  • Refreshing the activation afterward will ensure that data roaming is turned back on.
