Phone Disconnects from WiFi After a Minute or Two

Symptoms

  • Not been able to connect to WiFi for more than 2 minutes
  • Sites cannot "obtain an IP address"

Environment

Resolution

  1. Clear the system cache on the phone
    • Note: this step will only work for Motorola 3.0 phones running Android 8.0 Oreo and below
  2. If the issue persists, or if you're running Android 8.1 Oreo, Reset Network Settings
