How to Transfer Files from Moto G5S Plus to Nexus 6P via Bluetooth

 Objective

  • To pair phones via Bluetooth and transfer files

Environment

  • Moto G5S Plus
  • Nexus 6P
  • Bluetooth

Procedure

1. Ensure that both phones' Bluetooth are paired before transferring files. If not, please do the following:

  • On both phones, open Settings
  • Turn Bluetooth on:
    • On the Moto G5S Plus, go to Bluetooth
    • On the Nexus 6P, tap on Connected devices
  • Swipe right to Turn on
  • Tap on Bluetooth again to find any visible nearby phone
  • Tap on the name of the phone you wish to connect to
  • Tap Pair to allow permission request

2. Transfer files from the Moto G5S Plus to the Nexus 6P

  • On the Moto G5S Plus:
    • Open Settings
    • Tap on Storage
    • Tap on Internal shared storage
    • Scroll down, tap Explore
    • Find/Open the file you would like to send
    • Tap the Share button (looks like a left facing arrow with dots on the points)
    • Tap Bluetooth
    • Tap the name of the phone you would like to send to
  • On the Nexus 6P:
    • Swipe down the quick notifications from the top of the screen
    • Tap on Incoming file
    • Tap on Accept to allow incoming file
    • Swipe down the quick notifications and tap the Bluetooth share to see the progress of the transfer
    • Check your received files in Inbound transfers
