Error "UICC_ABSENT_OR_BAD"

Symptoms

  • "UICC_ABSENT_OR_BAD" error during cellular configuration
  • No access to cellular network

Environment

  • All Republic Wireless 1.0/2.0 phones except the Moto G1

Resolution

  1. Remove the SIM card from the phone
  2. Refresh the Republic Wireless activation
  3. While the phone is off for the last step above, you can go ahead and Replace the SIM card in the phone

If the situation persists after these steps, please open a Help Ticket, attaching information about your SIM card.
