  • Determine if an app used data in the background


  • Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016)
  • Android 7.1 Nougat


  1. Open Settings 
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap Mobile data
    • Foreground data is data that was used when running the app.
    • Background data was data used by the app for things such as notifications or updates.
  5. Take a screenshot of this page
