Objective
- Update Apps with the Google Play Store
Environment
- Android Phones
Procedure
Newer Versions of the Play store:
- Open the Play Store application
- Tap your Google Account Icon (circle) in the upper right corner
- Tap Manage apps & device
- Tap Manage
- Tap Updates available
- Tap the box next to each app you would like to update
- Note: If an app is not listed here, you already have the latest version available to you
- Tap the checkmark in the upper right corner to update the checked apps
- Tap Update
Using the search bar
- Tap on the Play store
- Tap the search bar at the top
- Type in the app name you would like to update and search
- Tap on desired app
- Tap Update
- Note: If Update is not an option, but Uninstall instead, then the app is up to date
Older Versions of the Play store:
- Tap on the Play Store
- Tap the 3 bars located in the top left-hand corner
- Tap My apps and games
- Tap Update next to each app that you would like to update if an update is available
- Note: If Update is not listed next to the app, you already have the latest version available to you
Additional Notes
For the older app version: While updating your apps you will notice a green box that says "Update All" this is beneficial if you have a large number of apps in need of updates.
