What Does the SIM Card Do on 1.0 and 2.0 Phones?

The SIM card is used to provide LTE data access to these phones.  The SIM card doesn't provide any WiFi service connection (as on 3.0 phones) nor does this store the Republic Wireless phone number.  

  • On the Moto G3, the SIM card provides all cellular access, not just access to LTE data
