Porting out a phone number to Cricket Wireless or Google Voice
Answer
Republic Wireless does not hold or prevent you from taking your number elsewhere.
Some carriers are only willing to transfer numbers that are classified as wireless. Our numbers are classified as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) because of our blended WiFi/cell service, which some carriers consider to be the same as a wireline classification.
This is a limitation/restriction of the provider you’re porting to.
Additional Notes
If you are trying to transfer your service to one of these carriers, the standard workaround is to temporarily port your number to a wireless carrier that will accept your number, and then port from there to your preferred provider.
