Is My Republic Wireless SIM Card CDMA or GSM?

Environment

Answer

A My Choice GSM SIM card can be identified by any of the following:

  • A 19-digit ICCID starting with 89012
  • The SKU RWTRIPLESIM
  • A green and grey Republic logo on the front
    • Note that a data SIM card has the same colors since it's also a GSM SIM card. If you suspect that you might have a data SIM card, please use one of the other methods to identify the SIM card.

A My Choice CDMA SIM card can be identified by any of the following:

  • A 20-digit ICCID starting with either 89011 or 89312
  • One of the following SKUs:
    • CZ601001C
    • CZ601001Q ('C2' printed on the SIM)
    • CZ601001TQ ('C3' printed on the SIM)
    • CZ601002TQ ('C4' printed on the SIM)
  • A black Republic logo on the front

A Data SIM card can be identified by any of the following:

  • A 19-digit ICCID starting with 89012
  • The SKU GSMDATASIM

Additional Notes

If the SIM card is already installed in your phone, you can verify the SIM type in your Republic app (Republic app version 3.21 and above)

You can also look at the color of the text on the SIM card. If the "Republic" text is gray, it's CDMA. If the "Republic" text has green in it, it's GSM.
