- Any non-WiFi only plan phone with Republic Wireless
- Cell network
The cellular data setting needs to be turned "on" in settings even If the plan does not include data, because Republic Wireless uses cellular data for cellular telecommunications, meaning that we route calls and messages over a data connection.
Data used for routing calls and messages will not count towards your plan's data allowance, because it has been enabled for the Republic App's use and is part of the non-data cell plan fixed cost.
If you are worried about your data usage it is possible to restrict background data for any apps that may cause you concern. Please refer to this help article for information on How to Restrict App Background Data on a 3.0 Motorola Phone.
