How to Restrict App Background Data on a 3.0 Motorola Phone Running Marshmallow and Nougat

  • Restrict app background data usage

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap Apps
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap Data usage
  5. Disable Background data

Additional Notes

When you restrict the app background data it will not work unless connected to WiFi, or if you are actively using it in the foreground of your phone. This will not only tell you which apps are using the most data, but will also tell you where the allotted data for the monthly plan has gone

We do not recommend disabling background data for the Republic Wireless App
