Troubleshooting Text Messaging

If you just transferred your number to Republic Wireless, it can take up to 72 business hours for inbound text messaging to start working.

Keep in mind:

  • Correct number
Please make sure you're texting the correct number and that you're using 10 digits. We don't support texting to 7- or 11-digit numbers.

  • Short codes
Short codes are a 4-digit to 6-digit form of messaging used for promotions or other services. Some short codes are not compatible with Republic. For more info, check out our Short Codes doc.

  • MMS
MMS is available on the Moto X and future phones, but it is not an available feature on the DEFY XT.
