Dollar for dollar, fair is fair.

Billing

What is this going to cost me?

You will not be charged to transition to the Republic Wireless Plans 2.0. With the Republic Wireless Plans 2.0, you pay for the cellular data that you use and get paid back for what you don’t. Plans start at $5 (Wifi Only). The $10 Base Plan gives you WiFi talk, text, and data and cellular talk and text. On top of the $10 Base Plan, you can purchase cellular data starting at $7.50 per ½ GB or $15 per 1 GB.

How do I know if I bought enough cellular data?

To get an idea of the amount of cellular data you should purchase, take a look at your past month's cellular data usage. If you need additional cellular data, you can purchase more at any time, right from your phone.  data usage history in app.

What happens if I don’t use all my cellular data? Will I receive a credit or a refund for any unused cellular data?

You will receive a credit on your account for any unused cellular data This will automatically be applied to your next month's bill. If you have an additional credit balance after we have applied your Republic Refund™ to your next month's bill, you will receive the remaining credit as a refund to the credit card we have on file. If the credit card we have on file for you has been changed or expired, we'll mail you a check.

How is my Republic Refund™ calculated?

Your Republic Refund™ is calculated by finding the amount of cellular data that you did not use for the month and dividing it by 1024. 1024 is the amount of MB in 1 GB. Take that number and multiply it by $15 (the amount you paid for the 1GB of cellular data). Alright, so that’s a lot of words here’s the formula:

MB Unused / 1024 MB x $15 = Your Republic Refund™!

Let’s say you’re on the $10.00 Base Plan but know you’re taking a trip and you buy some data as a cushion for when you’re not near WiFi. You decide to get 1 GB of data for $15.00 as a one-time data purchase eligible for a Republic Refund™

1 GB ($15.00) of cellular data (1 GB = 1024 MB) for your bill cycle

But! You end up only using 450 MB.

That means 1024 MB Purchased - 450 MB Used = 574 MB Unused

574 MB Unused /1024 MB = 0.56 GB

0.56 GB X $15.00 = $8.40 for your Republic Refund™

Since your bill is normally $10.00 a month, you can now credit that $8.40 and only pay $1.60 for your upcoming bill cycle. If your Republic Refund™ is greater than your normal bill cycle, your billing credit card will be refunded that difference.

Will my bill cycle date change if I switch to Republic Wireless Plans 2.0?

Nope! Your bill cycle date will remain the same as always. When you schedule your transition to the Republic Wireless Plans 2.0, you’ll be transitioned over on your normal bill cycle date.

When is my bill cycle date?

      • On your phone:
        1. Tap Apps.
        2. Tap Republic.
        3. On the Your Phone Info tab, look under your phone number and current service plan. It will say Next bill date:

Do I still get two plan changes per bill cycle?

The way that the Republic Wireless Plans 2.0 is structured, plan changes don't go into effect until your next bill cycle date, unless you are upgrading from the $5 plan. When you upgrade from the $5 plan to the Base Plan the change will take effect immediately. If you need more cellular data during your current bill cycle, you can add a one-time cellular data purchase of .5 GB, 1 GB, 2 GB or 3 GB.

How are taxes calculated for the Republic Wireless Plans 2.0?

You can find tax information here.

If I have the 10% Beta discount, will I be able to keep that on the Republic Wireless Plans 2.0?

You sure can! Your 10% Beta discount will be applied to your monthly recurring charge and to one-time cellular data purchases as well.

What is cellular data usage rounded to for purposes of Republic Refund™?

With Republic Refund™, we feel fair is fair. We don’t round your cellular data up (or down) and you’ll be credited for every Byte you don’t use. Specifically, we first count the unused data for the month (to the byte, no rounding) and multiply that by the price per byte. The final credit is rounded to the nearest penny. Buy the cellular data you need and get refunded for what you don’t use.

Is Republic Wireless system data counted against my data usage?

No. Republic Wireless system data isn’t counted against your cellular data usage.

WiFi

Do I have to be connected to WiFi if I need to purchase more cellular data?

No. If you run out of cellular data and you need to add more, you can do so even if you’re not connected to WiFi.
