This document is intended for Moto E (1st and 2nd Gen.), Moto G (1st and 3rd Gen.), and Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen.) users
A Google account is required to use all Google applications on the device, such as Gmail, Calendar, and Contacts. If you do not have an account, you'll be asked to create one when attempting to access any of these apps. To learn how to set up a Gmail account, please see our Email doc.
To sync your Google account(s):
- Tap Apps.
- Select Settings
- Scroll down to Accounts.
- Tap Google.
- Tap your Google account.
- A list will be displayed of all the items you can sync. Check or uncheck which items you would like synced or not synced.
- To sync everything, tap Menu, then select Sync now.
- To stop syncing, tap Menu, then select Cancel sync.
NOTE: If you are syncing your Gmail account, be sure that the email protocol (POP3 or IMAP) is enabled both on your phone and in your Gmail account settings online. IMAP is suggested for syncing between multiple devices.
