Turn GPS on or off

 

  1. Tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under Personal, tap Location.
  4. Slide Location to On.
  5. Tap Mode to select how your location is determined:
    • High accuracy - GPS, WiFi, and mobile networks
    • Battery saving - WiFi and mobile networks
    • Device only - GPS only

Troubleshoot GPS

If GPS is not finding your location or is unable to update third-party apps:

  • In Google Maps, tap the blue crosshairs to see if it can lock on to your location.
  • Restart your phone, or put your phone into Airplane mode then restart.
  • Change your location settings to see which settings work best:
    1. Tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Under Personal, tap Location.
    4. Make sure Location is turned on.
    5. Make sure that High accuracy mode is selected.
