For DEFY XT Users
PopWiFi notifications are integrated into the Devicescape code that's part of the Republic Wi-Fi+ app. These notifications appear when a phone connects to a public WiFi hotspot, but can also sometimes appear when connecting to a private hotspot if the Wi-Fi+ app is installed.
For privately owned WiFi hotspots, visit https://www.popwifi.com/deactivation/ to disable PopWiFi messages.
Note: You will need the SSID and BSSID for the network location to use this option.
To turn off PopWiFi notifications:
1. Drag down on the top of the screen to show notifications.
2. Tap the notification that says "Welcome to the popwifi network!"
Note: The notification title wording may vary slightly. Look for the notification with the blue circle containing the letter "i".
3. In the PopWiFi app, tap the menu button at the top left of the screen.
4. Tap Notifications.
5. Under Notifications, uncheck the box labeled "Subscribe to notifications on your phone if you are near a wall."
