Check Network Settings for Motorola DEFY XT

For DEFY XT Users

Follow these steps if you're experiencing issues with network or roaming availability. 

Check network settings 

Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks

  • Data is enabled
    If enabled, it will be checked and green.
  • Data roaming is enabled
    If enabled, it will be checked and green.
    (Note: Ignore the warning about roaming charges, as it doesn't apply. Roaming should always be turned on.)
  • Network Mode
    Set to EvDo auto.
  • System select
    Set to Automatic

Check that your phone's system is up to date 

  • Build Number
    Go to Settings > About phone > Build number.
    If the system level is NOT 1_65K_1027, then update by going to Settings > About phone > Phone Updates > System Updates
  • PRL
    (Note: You'll need to be connected to either WiFi or on-network (not roaming) cellular to update your PRL.)

    Update by going to Settings > About phone > Phone Updates > Update PRL
