Overview
Learn how to activate a cell phone or SIM card on Republic Wireless, whether you are a new member or an existing member.
Initial Setup
Your phone will automatically guide you through a set of initial setup steps the first time you turn it on. During these initial setup steps, you’ll be walked through connecting to a WiFi network, creating or signing into your Google account, and configuring other settings on your phone.
Activation Instructions for Republic Wireless 3.0 Phones
Once you’ve completed the initial setup and are on the phone's home screen, follow the instructions below to activate your phone on the Republic Wireless network.
- Install your SIM Card
- Note: If you purchased your phone from republicwireless.com, your SIM card has already been installed for you
- Turn the phone on
- Connect to a WiFi network
- Open the app drawer
- Tap the Play Store app
- Search for Republic Wireless
- Tap the Republic app
- Tap Update or Install
- After the installation or update completes, tap Open
- Wait for the activation screen to appear (may take up to 30 seconds)
- Tap Get Activated
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your activation
Important Note
- If you’re an existing member, you’ll be able to choose whether you’d like to move your current number to your new phone or if you’d like to add a new number.
- If you’re a new member, you’ll be able to create a Republic Wireless account during the activation process.
- When logging in to your Republic Wireless account, you must log in as the account owner. Account users cannot go through the activation process.
