New Line Activation Instructions, if getting a New Number
Step 1: Get your phone ready (Please read before you start the activation process)
- Do not cancel your previous service until your activation is complete
- If you are planning on keeping your phone number, your previous provider will cancel your account automatically once your phone number transfers. If you would like to double-check that everything was canceled, feel free to contact them after your Republic Wireless by DISH activation is complete.
- If you’re keeping your current phone number you will need the following information from your previous provider:
- Account Number
- Port-out PIN Number
- Billing Address
If you're having trouble locating this information, find the contact information for your previous provider and get in touch with them.
- If you're bringing your own phone, make sure your phone is:
- “Unlocked” with previous provider
- A “locked” phone means it can only be used on a specific provider’s network. If you are not sure if your phone is unlocked, you can find the contact information for your previous provider and get in touch with them. If necessary, they can unlock it for you.
- Compatible with our network
- iPhones: Needs to be an iPhone 6s or newer model
- Android Phones: Most Android phones manufactured after 2017 should be compatible with our service.
- Using the most updated software
- iPhones: Make sure the software is updated to the latest iOS version.
- Android Phones: Make sure the software is updated to the latest version.
- “Unlocked” with previous provider
- Whether you are bringing your own phone or you purchased a new one, you may want to back up all your data on your current phone
Step 2: Sign-In to Republic Wireless by DISH Account
- To sign in, you will need the email address you provided and your password.
- If you ordered over the phone, you will need to use the temporary password we emailed to you. After your sign-in, this can be changed under your account settings.
- Visit republicwirelessbydish.com/activate to sign in and start the activation process.
Step 3: Enter SIM ICC ID Number
- Take the SIM card out of the welcome kit that was sent to you. It looks just like a credit card.
- On the back of the SIM card, you will find the 20-digit ICC ID number at the bottom.
- After you sign in and start the activation process you will enter this ICC ID number.
- When you are done, keep that SIM Card as that will be needed again during the next step.
Step 4: Insert SIM Card into Phone
Steps to insert your SIM card
- Please turn off your phone
- Find the SIM card tray on your phone: Usually found on the side, top or bottom of the phone. You’ll recognize it by the small pinhole.
- If your phone doesn’t have a SIM tray, the SIM slot is most likely located under the back cover of the phone. It’s usually behind the battery.
- Find the SIM ejector tool that came in your welcome kit. Insert the pointed end of the tool into the hole on the SIM tray door. Gently push until the tray ejects, remove the tray, and set it down for the next step.
- Find the new SIM card (looks like a credit card) that came in your welcome kit. You will notice this card actually separates into three different sizes.
- If your current phone already had a SIM card installed, compare that one to the SIM choices we sent you to identify which is the right size for your phone.
- On your new SIM Card, carefully pop out the correct size needed for your phone. If you accidentally pop out the wrong size, simply place the smaller SIM card back into the larger one.
- If your phone has a tray, make sure to match the angled corner of the SIM card to the angled corner of the tray. Then gently slide the tray back into the phone until it snaps into place.
- If your SIM location is under the back cover, slide the new SIM card into place, put the battery back in (if necessary) then put your cover back on.
- Don’t turn your phone back on. You will do this once the activation process is complete.
Step 5: Choose Phone Number
- Either choose a new phone number or keep your current phone number.
- If you’re keeping your current phone number you will need the following information from your previous provider:
- Account Number
- To find your account number: This is usually located around the top of your monthly bill. You can also check the App or online account of your previous provider.
- Port-out PIN Number
- To find your port-out PIN #: This is typically set up during the initial activation process with your previous provider. You can also check the App or online account of your previous provider.
- Billing Address
- Important: You want to make sure you enter this information exactly as it appears on your previous provider’s account.
- Account Number
If you're having trouble locating this information, find the contact information for your previous provider and get in touch with them.
Step 6: Activate Account
- If you’re activating more than one line, you will repeat steps 3 to 5 above for each line.
- After you’ve finished entering all the information for your lines you will submit the activation.
- Important: We’ll email you when your phone is done activating and provide next steps.
- After you receive an email that your phone has been successfully activated, you are ready to turn your phone back on.
Step 7: Update Provider Settings
- This information is very important if you are bringing your own phone.
Activation Instructions for Existing Member Accounts
Activation Instructions for Member Accounts with an Existing Republic Legacy Plan moving to a 5.0 Plan on the same account
Once you land on the activation page, follow these instructions:
- Sign in with your email address and password that you created
- Review the process and click Activate
- Insert the SIM Card into the first phone you want to activate
- Select the ICC ID that was inserted from the drop-down menu in the activation portal
- NOTE: Your phone numbers should already be listed. They will move automatically as you confirm the ICC ID.
- NOTE: You also have the option to manually enter the ICC ID if for any reason it is not pre-populated

- Turn the phone on and check for any error prompts due to SIM incompatibility
- Click Continue
- Repeat steps 3 through 6 for any additional lines you want to activate (if applicable).
- Review your lines and phone numbers and make any additional edits. Click Submit Activation.
- Check your email inbox for important updates on activation progress.
- Finish setting up your phone's APN settings.
